HTML heading structure: one H1 and a clean hierarchy
Group B2 pointsrubric r1
We list the h1 to h6 tags in your homepage HTML, check there is exactly one h1, and check that the tree has an h2 and never skips a level going down.
Why it matters
An agent that reads a long page splits it at headings and picks the section that matches the question. With no h1, several h1 tags or jumps like h2 to h5, the sections are mislabeled and the page is chunked at wrong boundaries. One point is for a single h1, one for a clean hierarchy.
How to fix it
- Use exactly one
<h1>that states what the page is about. - Follow it with
<h2>section headings, then<h3>below them, without skipping a level. - Replace styled
<div class="title">blocks with real heading tags. - Do not use headings only for font size; use CSS for that.
How to verify
Run curl -s https://example.com/ | grep -o "<h[1-6]" | sort | uniq -c and check there is one <h1.
